How to Better Insulate Your Home

Insulation is what keeps your home toasty in the cooler months and cooler in the high heat. For many homeowners, insulation is something that lives in the attic and is rarely considered. However, with a few tweaks, you can add additional insulation to your home, resulting in a more comfortable temperature and a lower energy bill.

Insulate your outlets. Just like a window, your outlets can lead to significant energy loss. Try adding foam insulation pads behind your outlets and switches for a cost-effective solution.

Insulate your garage door. Insulating your garage will manage your home temperature and keep things quiet, especially if you live in a busy area.

Insulate your window panes. Consider adding a see-through insulation film to your windows to dodge cool drafts.

Examine your vents. To ensure your home's heating and cooling is at its peak efficiency, walk through your home and make sure all your vents are free and clear of furniture and carpets.

Weatherstrip. An easy insulation hack is to add foam weatherstripping around the inside of your door, which will create a seal and prevent air from entering or exiting.
